Gel Projects is sold using two licensing instruments.  The suitability of these different options for each implementation varies and discounts are available for larger implementations: 

Annual Subscription (SaaS)

Using this option the software is rented for periods of one or more years.  The software can be located in Trigger’s data centre or in the client’s data centre.  In both scenarios the server is monitored by the Trigger support team.  There is a base server license payable plus further charges for each module and for each user with an active account.  Additional modules and users can be added on at any time and charged on a pro-rata basis for the remainder of the contract period.  This option suits short term projects or customers wishing to spread the cost of the system over several years without it becoming a capital expenditure item.

Perpetual License (Conventional) 

Using this option the software is licensed for an unlimited term and for an unlimited number of users on a single production database. This suits clients who wish to have a high number of users or where they anticipate using it for a minimum of three years.  In most cases the software is installed and hosted on the client’s own servers although Trigger’s deployment team will often carry out the installation.  A rolling annual support contract remains in place to ensure that the client has support for the application and receives critical updates for the software.  There are no per user license fees payable.
