Deployment Options

Gel Projects has been designed from the outset to enable corporations to choose the best delivery model for their own specific IT infrastructure.  The gel technology platform provides great flexibility so that  the best deployment option can be selected and even changed over time as the size, requirements and shape of the organisation changes.  The following deployment options are available:

ASP (Application Service Provider)

Under the ASP configuration, the dedicated hardware system running Gel Projects is located and managed at a secure data centre and connected via a secure VPN tunnel to the customer's Local Area Network (LAN). Under the ASP arrangement, there is no separate expense for hardware, third party software, system management, or maintenance. Trigger performs all system backups, database administration, software management, and other standard data centre functions.

RSP (Remote Service Provider)

With the RSP solution, Trigger assumes the responsibility for monitoring and supporting the Gel Projects software components located on the client’s own hardware servers. This allows the organisation’s existing IT staff to manage the system in line with existing infrastructure, network and other applications. RSP is an option for organisations that choose to house hardware at their site, but require Gel Projects specific support and monitoring on a short or long-term basis.
